Why Lokta Paper?

Lokta paper is made from the bark of the Daphne plant, native to the high-altitude Himalayan forests of Nepal. The plant regenerates naturally after harvesting — no deforestation, no waste. Bark is hand-stripped, pulped, and sun-dried into sheets in small village workshops as part of fairly traded, community-led production.
